Title: King Ministries is a Faith-Based Ministry of Martin Luther King Jr. Community Services

1
King Ministries is a Faith-Based Ministry of
Martin Luther King Jr. Community Services of
Illinois
2
Beliefs King Ministries believes that the Bible
is written and inspired by the Word of God. Jesus
Christ is the Son of the Living God, and
proclaims him Lord and Savior of the world. The
saints of God will be raptured. There is eternal
life in either heaven or hell (an individuals
choice). There is an indwelling and a baptism in
3
sharing of bread and wine (my bodymy blood).
We meet and receive the living Christ. We affirm
the presence of the living Lord and proclaim him
the dominant power in our lives. Divine healing
is ours today through Jesus Christ. Tithing is
our covenant connector. Giving determines the
amount of our increase. We should be baptized in
the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
4
Faith-Based Ministries Strategies To
evangelize (Go therefore and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything that I have
commanded you. And remember, I am with you
always, to the end of the age. Matt 2818-20)
and support the
5
work of the ecumenical church through the
Christian development of the Saints of God
through Preaching and Teaching. To develop
Transitional Independent Living Services (TILS)
initiatives which focus on juveniles returning
from the Department of Corrections who do not
have a caretaker to be released to. There are
over 200 juveniles currently in
6
Illinois correctional facilities (Source The
State of Illinois Juvenile Department of
Corrections). To develop advocacy volunteers
who will mentor juveniles that are on probation,
or provide juveniles informal supervision so they
do not enter further into the juvenile justice
system.
7
To recruit and train ecumenical clergy in the
development of Prevention Services (i.e.
substance abuse, crime, teen pregnancy, Christian
community mobilization, healthcare).

Guidelines For a Constructive Church
10
This morning I would like to submit to you that
we who are followers of Jesus Christ, and we who
must keep his church going and keep it alive,
also have certain basic guidelines to follow.
Somewhere behind the dim mist of eternity, God
set forth his guidelines.
11
And through his prophets, and above all through
his son Jesus Christ, he said that there are some
things that my church must do. And he said,
Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath
anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, and
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted.
12
There are some guidelines that my church must
follow. The guidelines are clearly set forth for
us in some words uttered by our Lord and Master
as he went into the temple one day, and he went
back to Isaiah and quoted from him.
13
Deliverance to the captives, and recovering of
sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that
are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the
Lord. These are the guidelines. Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr.
