  • of El Grito de Independencia. This is about
    the tradition of El Grito de Independencia, and
    what time of the year it is in.

All About El Grito de Independencia
  • Mexico holds the holiday El Grito de
    Independencia.
  • El Grito means cry of independence.
  • El Grito de Independencia celebrates Mexicos
    freedom from Spain.
  • On the night of September 15th 1910, special
    envoys stood on the illuminated balconies of the
    national palace and watched the fiesta


  • of all fiestas on the Mexican calendar.
  • On the night of september 16th mexicans all over
    the world celebrate the independence of spanish
    rule.

THINGS ABOUT EL GRITO de INDEPENDENCIA
  • This moment is re enacted in every zocalo or
    plaza of mexico, and commemorated by mexicans
    all around the world.
  • Streets, houses, buildings, and even cars are
    decorated in all of Mexico.
  • On every road, theres a salesmen selling
    balloons, flags, sombreros, and rehiletes.
  • Live Mariachi Music plays for everyone whos at
    the ceremony.

  • This ceremony recreates the moment in which
    father Hidalgo, gathered his followers in Dolores
    Guanajuato.
  • The bell rung by Hidalgo is placed in the
    presidents office.
  • The bell that Hidalgo rung is rung every 16th of
    September.
  • Around the end of El Grito de Independencia, the
    crowd is screaming the names of their heroes into
    the air.
  • At the end of the ceremony the sky lights up
    with fireworks that shower their hearts with the
    pride of knowing that we are all a free
    independent nation.
