Why this Doctrine?

• An attempt to remove the binding authority of
  what Jesus taught on divorce and remarriage
• So that it does not apply to all people today
• So that people may remain in sinful remarriages
• So that marrying one who has been put away is
  not adultery in spite of Matthew 531-32
• So that remarriage after putting away for a cause
  other than fornication is not adultery in spite
  of Matthew 199
