• America is great because America is good, and
  if America ever ceases to be good, America will
  cease to be great!

Romans 131-7

• 1Obey the government, for God is the one who put
  it there. All governments have been placed in
  power by God. 2So those who refuse to obey the
  laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and
  punishment will follow.

• 3For the authorities do not frighten people who
  are doing right, but they frighten those who do
  wrong. So do what they say, and you will get
  along well. 4The authorities are sent by God to
  help you.

• But if you are doing something wrong, of course
  you should be afraid, for you will be punished.
  The authorities are established by God for that
  very purpose, to punish those who do wrong.

• 5So you must obey the government for two
  reasons to keep from being punished and to keep
  a clear conscience. 6Pay your taxes, too, for
  these same reasons. For government workers need
  to be paid so they can keep on doing the work God
  intended them to do.

• 7Give to everyone what you owe them Pay your
  taxes and import duties, and give respect and
  honor to all to whom it is due. New Living

• Then give to Caesar what is Caesars, and to

Summary

• All governments and all leaders are established
  by God.
• Were to obey them as if they are God.
• When we refuse obey and pay we can count on
  being punished.
• Obedience gives us a clear conscience before God
  and men.

Cooperative Coexistence

• We do all the things that Paul teaches in Romans
  13.
• We counsel our government about moral/spiritual
  issues.
• When necessary, we exercise our right of civil
  disobedience, willing to take whatever punishment
  is determined.

• 1I urge you, first of all, to pray for all
  people. As you make your requests, plead for
  Gods mercy upon them, and give thanks. 2Pray
  this way for kings and all others who are in
  authority, so that we can live in peace and
  quietness, in godliness and dignity.

• 3This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4for
  he wants everyone to be saved and to understand
  the truth. 5For there is only one God and one
  Mediator who can reconcile God and people. He is

Pray for

• the President and his advisors.
• all elected officialsfederal, state, and local.
• those in our judicial system.
• our military leaders and servicemen.
• educators, teachers, and students at all levels.
• the media.
