  • We, the Pioneers, will learn how individuals
    can accomplish more as a team than they could
    independently. Through equality, mutual respect
    the application of effective teamwork
    leadership skills, WE WILL SUCCEED.

    administered after completion of project 1

  • Reach performing stage by completion of project

  • Measurements
  • Complete team-evaluation survey (after completion
    of project 1) developed by team members, assess
    the results, communicate results to one another
    in weekly meeting
  • Based on the results of the team-evaluation
    survey, determine the developmental stage our
    team is in (forming, norming, storming, or
    performing) discuss if goal was attained, if
    not, how we can achieve our goal. Then
    re-administer team-evaluation survey if necessary
    at later date to be determined by group and
    evaluate progress.

    Leadership
  • Tasks
  • Prepare for knowledge checks by reading assigned
    chapters from book course pack the prior week
  • Create cheat sheet 1 page (front-side only) of
    8.5 by 11 sheet of paper with relevant notes
    from book course pack to utilize as reference
    during knowledge check
  • Produce 2 team projects by choosing tasks through
    consensus, meeting as team to work on project,
    editing compiling the final project to be
    submitted to Dr. Tombaugh by syllabus dates
  • Produce 1 individual student portfolio by
    compiling assigned surveys
  • Measurements
  • Score 93 or better on 6 individual team
    knowledge checks, 2 team projects, 1 individual
    student portfolio

The Pioneers Roles
  • Coordinator
  • Responsible for assuring flow of meetings
  • Arranges team meetings
  • Coordinates team assignments for weekly meetings
  • Ensures work assignments are distributed in an
    effective manner
  • Initiates agenda items for each meeting
  • Scribe
  • Records results and prepares summaries for each
    meeting
  • Compiles and disseminates information to team
    members prior to next meeting
  • Timekeeper
  • Tracks time set for each subject of discussion
  • Ensures team remains focused and adheres to the
    agreed upon time of each subject
  • Facilitator
  • Provides unbiased feedback on the team's progress
    and development
  • Serves as an impartial listener by identifying
    differences of ideas without presenting own views
  • Editor
  • Completes and edits group projects
  • Creates final drafts and prints copies for
    submission

Note Roles will rotate to ensure opportunity
for team members to experience a variety of roles

The Pioneers Ground Rules
  • Administrative
  • Meeting times/place/frequency/length
  • Minimum of once a week in a mutually agreed place
    time
  • Meeting length will be based on necessary tasks
    to be accomplished every week
  • Notify a team member in advance if unable to
    attend a scheduled meeting
  • Cell phones /or pagers put on silent mode
  • Assessment of performance
  • Skill set self-evaluation survey
    team-evaluation survey to be taken after
    completion of project 1
  • When completing work product, send attachment via
    e-mail to all teammates
  • Amend charter as needed by consensus
