Title: Control Room Logbook (CRL)

1
Control Room Logbook (CRL)
  • http//www-cpd.fnal.gov/CRL/
  • Status Meeting
  • Suzanne Panacek

2
Project Drivers
  • User feedback
  • Users D0, Minos, CMS, MiniBoone, Computer
    Security, Mipp, Westing House, EGO
  • Each installation has designated admin. Casual
and frequent communication via email or phone.
  • New ways to use the CRL
  • The Web is the preferred way to use it. All new
development is in the CRLW (CRL Web application).
The desktop application is still available and
provides the base code for the CRLW.
  • The users have now a large archive of entries (D0
400,000 entries). They want to categorize,
organize, make lists, and link entries in their
    own context.
  • Need for speed, and more speed, especially for
    retrieving and searching entries.
  • New users outside the control room and outside
    FNAL
  • Projects are using the CRL outside control room
for keeping meeting notes or a log of any kind
    (computer security)
  • Users outside of FNAL are interested. Savanna
Westing house and EGO are using it.

made CRLW available on Fermi tools
  • Installation at EGO (European Gravitational
    Observatory) in progress.
  • Next 3 months

Risk
  • No major risks
