• EPICENTER OF AFTERSHOCK LOCATED BETWEEN
  PINGWU AND BEICHUAN COUNTIES, TWO LOCATIONS
  ALREADY DEVASTATED BY THE WENCHUAN QUAKE

• In Pingwu, where more than 5,000 were killed in
  the May 12th earthquake, 130,000 people were
  affected, 540 houses were destroyed , and 2,450
  others were damaged in 25 towns.
• Most of the communication facilities were
  damaged in these towns.
• 230 were injured.

AFTERSHOCK TRIGGERS ADDITIONAL LANDSLIDES

• The aftershock caused severe landslides in the
  northern part of the Sichuan Province.
• But no fatalities were reported.
