Who We Are Ada S. McKinley Community Services,
Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is one of the
largest human services organizations in Chicago.
Founded in 1919 by Ada S. McKinley an
African-American schoolteacher and social
activist with a vision for quality life for inner
city communities, Ada S. McKinley Community
Services serves more than 12,000 individuals and
families on Chicagos south, west, and north
sides as well as Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and
Kokomo, Indiana. Our goal is to provide our
clients with quality programs and services to
assist them in reaching their fullest potential
and achieving independence.
Our Mission To serve those who, because of
disabilities or other limiting conditions, need
help in finding and pursuing paths leading to
healthy, productive and fulfilling lives.

• Who We Serve
• Our clients are of all ages and reside primarily
  in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods on
  Chicagos South, West, and North sides and in
  Kokomo, Indiana and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
• 40 of the 12,000 clients are developmentally
  disabled
• 91 African American, 6.5 Hispanic, 2.4
  Caucasian, .7 other

• Foster Care, Adoption, and Emergency Shelter
  Services
• College Preparation and Placement Services
• Residential Services
• Employment Training and Placement Services
• Counseling Services
• Special and Alternative Schools
• Day Care Service for Children
• After School Services
• Senior Services

Fiscal Responsibility is highlighted by the fact
that in 2006, 91 of the agencys 40 million
budget was spent on direct services to clients.
