Crisis Management Initiative
Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) is an
independent non-governmental association whose
aim is to respond to new security challenges. CMI
employs currently 10 people and is headed by its
founder President Martti Ahtisaari. It is part
of the CMIs mission to enhance the crisis
management capacity of the international
community by bringing together the the various
actors in order to work out innovative solutions
for crisis prevention, crisis management and the
rehabilitation of societies. Since CMI is a
non-profit seeking organisation, it has no
commercial interest in the ITCM program.

Rationale of the ITCM Program

    management operations require tools that enable
    dependable co-operation between organisations on
    the field, thus ensuring and enhancing

  • The objective of the ITCM program is to develop
    management and communication system tailored for
    the use of crisis management missions
  • Real-time geographic information system (GIS)
  • Groupware services (email, document management
    etc.)

    systems etc.)
