Organizing Files
  • To organize your files
  • Create public_html for RVCC2
  • Divide the root directory into subdirectories
    (folders)

Starting a New Paragraph
  • To begin a new paragraph type

  • All block level elements like (Hn) include an
    automatic carriage return which means you do not
    need a ltpgt
  • You can use styles to format paragraphs (font,
    size, color)
  • Amount of space between paragraphs depends on
    size of surrounding text
  • A quick and sloppy way to add extra space between
    paragraphs is to type nbsp

Saving Your Page
  • File save as
  • In WordPad, give the file the .htm or .html
    extension.
  • .htm from Windows 3.1
  • Mac users do not need it but they are very little
    of the audience
  • Name your home page index.html or default.htm
    depending on your server
  • Ask your ISP
