  • A Virtual Placement preparing for practice
has been produced in collaboration with the
University of Central England, 2002. The authors
Tarsem Singh Cooner and Professor Mark Doel hope
that this program will assist students and
    practice teachers, personal development assessors
etc. to prepare for the challenges that
placements can bring. This program is available
    for free download,
  • http//www.hcc.uce.ac.uk/virtualplacement/
  • Have a go! downloaded on Maureens lap top.
  • Piloting with UGR stage 1 students between

  • http//mgreig.blogspot.com/ an alternative to
QoL Discussion forum . It can be accessed outwith
QoL, it can be accessed by more folk than just
    QUB registered staff students-you decide
because you set up the participant list.
Participants can post up pictures images.
  • See a SWAP e learning blog in action
    http//philwanethinktank.blogspot.com/

23
  • At the think tank we used SKARP ( voice video
over internet, owned by e bay , free) to chat
with Julie Cairns, Director of Continuing Prof.
development, faculty of SW. Maybe we could think
of video conferencing during our Conference?
Perhaps then in workshop letting folk consider
pros cons of its application to Placements/ sw
    teaching learning. Apparently there is
something similar called First Class within
    Universities for video conferencing.
