If you place a hold on a book, we will contact
you when it is available. Click on Place Hold.

  • To Login, you'll be asked for your user ID. For
students, use your student number. For other
patrons, use the number on your library card.
  • For Canadore and Nipissing students, your PIN
should be your date of birth, in MMDDYY format
    (unless you have changed it).
  • For Nipissing students, do not include the first
initial of your last name before your student
    number (i.e., c0013156 would be 0013156).
  • If you don't know your PIN, please go to the
Circulation Desk. For reasons of personal privacy
and security, we do give out PINs over the
    telephone or by email.

5
  • From the dropdown menu, choose your pick-up
location (the default is the Education Centre
Library on the main North Bay campus)
  • Click on the Submit Hold button

6
If your hold was successful, you will receive a
Successful Hold Submission message.
A Library staff member will contact you when the
item is available. You have 3 days to pick it up
from the Circulation Desk. Please note that more
than one person can place a hold on an item and
you will receive it based on your position in
line.

Troubleshooting Tips
  • You cannot place a hold on an item that is
    available on the shelves.
  • Certain materials, such as AV items, cannot be
    placed on hold.
  • The maximum number of holds you can place is
    seven.
  • Your account must be in good standing to place a
hold. If you have overdue materials or
outstanding fines, you will receive a BLOCKED
message that will prevent you from placing a
    hold.
  • Distance Education students cannot place their
    own holds. Please contact distance_at_eclibrary.ca
or call 1-800-655-5154 (choose Library) to place
    holds or renew materials.
