What is a Chart of Accounts?
  • A list of all accounts names and numbers
  • Illustrates the Universitys organisational
    hierarchy in terms of numerical values
  • Used to split revenue and expenses to allow
    reporting by different categories
  • A means of categorising financial transactions

Why change?
  • To support the move from cash to accrual
    accounting
  • To classify Revenue, Expenses, Assets,
    Liabilities in accordance with UTS Management
    Structure
  • To ensure accurate reporting of the Universitys
    financial position
  • Provide accurate analysis of Income Expenditure
    against budget
