Title: Cancer Research

1
Cancer Research
2
Cancer research
  • Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity
dedicated to research on the causes, treatment
    and prevention of cancer.

3
What does the charity do?
  • They support the work of over 3,000 scientists,
doctors and nurses working across the UK. The
charitys annual scientific spend is more than
213 million, which is raised almost entirely
    through public donations.

4
How does the charity raise the money?
  • The cancer research charity raises money to help
research deeper into the various cancers that are
    now so common.
  • Without this charity, research would not be able
to continue, and our knowledge of the disease may
not become as helpful as we need.
  • Charity runs, concerts, shops, badges,
collectables, books, clothes, card etc, are just
some of the items available helping to raise
    money for this vital charity.

5
Cancer research
  • Raising money for charity

6
  • Our fund raising idea is to have..

7
  • A SCHOOL SLEEPOVER!!!!!

8
We have had to consider
  • Entry fee
  • Food
  • Accommodation
  • Facilities
  • Maximum people
  • Supervision
  • Where?
  • Sponsor to stay up all night
  • Entertainment

9
Price
  • We will charge an entry fee of up to 2 each.
  • The positive aspects to this idea is that it is a
raise-money quick idea. If say 100 people arrive
and pay 2 each, we have instantly raised 200.
  • The downside to this is that some people may not
be too keen to pay an entrance fee.

10
Food
  • The food situation is simple
  • The sleepover will start at, lets say, 8pm. Those
who are coming will eat before they arrive.
  • Girls can also bring food to the sleepover.
  • This way, those who want to eat before are able,
and those who want to eat during the sleepover,
    are also able.

11
Accommodation and facilities
  • Accommodation is an easy problem to solve
  • The sleepover will take place in the main hall or
    the sports hall.
  • Preferably in the main hall, as heating is
available, and there are also toilets.
  • If central heating is a problem then the
sleepover can take place in the summer term, when
    the weather is warmer

12
Supervision
  • Supervision is very important.
  • We have come up with several ideas for this
    possibility.
  • Parents can offer to supervise
  • Teachers can supervise
  • Relatives or 6th form members

13
Entertainment
  • We have produces several ideas for the kind of
entertainment that we can offer for this night
  • Watch films on the big screens
  • Arrive dressed in pink to support the breast
    cancer charity
  • Play games, quizzes, and do activities or
    competitions
  • Teacher and parent humiliation

14
Raising money
  • Money can be raised in all sorts of ways
  • Entrance fee
  • Sponsorship money, to stay up all night
  • Activities
  • Games such as Bingo, during the sleepover
  • Raffle

15
Conclusion
  • To conclude this idea, we think that it will have
    a very positive outcome.
  • After asking others and considering their
opinions, our results show that it would attract
a lot of attention and many people consider it as
a possibility and think that they would defiantly
    come to the sleepover
