Section 27 Summary of Open Work

Open Work

• EO-1 Project has been working diligently to
  complete the satellite in the shortest possible
  time
• Open paper has accumulated -- presently there are
  about 500 EO-1 open issues from all sources
• These have been reviewed and the EO-1 Project
  believes there are no show-stoppers
• Flight software has been and remains the greatest
  uncertainty
• Plans have been completed to aggressively close
  these open issues before the ? PSR scheduled for
  January 19, 2000

• All of the open issues in these databases have
  been gathered into a common database to
  facilitate closure
• A day-by-day schedule has been prepared to
  monitor the closure of these issues leading to
  the ? PSR

Summary

• EO-1 Project has sacrificed the timely closure of
  open issues to complete the testing of the
  satellite
• We acknowledge the responsibility to close the
  open issues
• EO-1 Project believes that they contain no
  show-stoppers
• We will focus on closing these open issues before
  the ? PSR on January 19, 2000
• The closure of all open issues has been assigned
  and scheduled and will be monitored weekly
• Thanks for coming to help us
• Have a happy holiday season and we will get
  together again on 1/19/00
