  • The purpose of assessment, in general, is to find
    out what your students know and are able to do
    with regard to what you are teaching/facilitating
  • Once the essential purpose is identified,
    educators must ask the critical question What
    kind of assessments will provide the best
    evidence that students have learned (to the
    application level)?
