Campus Safety Walk
  • Group of students, administrators, security
    management to identify where and how security can
    be improved on campus
  • Walked all over West/Central
  • Identified short and long term improvements
  • Better signage on residence halls and other
    locations
  • Lighting around laundry rooms, other spaces-
    Security is doing a lighting survey now
  • Identified the need for a security plan Central
    Campus to heighten security in transitional period

Collaborative Events Fund ? Band Fund
  • 10,000 trial run- completely spent out
  • Pilot Assessment- Report written, distributed
  • Both Successes and Shortcomings
  • Good events overwhelming interest.
  • Collaboration needs more than just funding leave
    it to groups like STUD, etc.
  • More cost-effective solutions were identified,
    since this year it paid for cups, etc. which
    dont directly contribute to the goals of the
    fund and are items that groups should be paying
    for anyway
  • For next year, we have changed the restrictions
    and it will be a 12,500 Band Fund
  • Contributions from Student Affairs and Dean of
    Undergraduate Affairs, DSG

CSC Transportation Voucher Program
  • CSC came to DSG for a solution to their
    transportation woes- biggest constraining factor
  • 15,000 allocation from Campus Services for taxi
    voucher program (pilot)
  • Funding received in April, so pilot period is
    Fall 2008

  • Pilot Successful- Will Continue next year
  • Pilot Assessment- Report written, distributed

  • Advisory Board- struggled this year due to
    organizational issues will happen next year
  • Peer-Counseling Hotline- background research and
    preliminary discussions.
