Bilateral Exchanges
  • The number of Canadian students who can
participate in SEP is limited by the number we
    receive.

of Canadian students that can go on exchange.
of international students who come to Canada
x 1.5
  • This means we need YOUR help to find placements
in hospital, community, industry and research
settings to increase YOUR chances to go on
    exchange

9
This year we are able to send 21 students abroad
from Canada for summer 2010!
10
Finding a pharmacist in Canada who is willing to
accept an international student for a placement
in 2010 is the best way to improve your
application for SEP. We are in great need of
Canadian host sites and if you find a Canadian
pharmacist willing to place an international
student, it will make your application much more
appealing to the selection committee.
Finding Hosts
11
Finding Hosts
  • Your IPSF reps have already begun contacting
national and provincial associations to promote
    the IPSF SEP
  • We have an informational letter that you can give
to pharmacists who would be interested in hosting
an international student for the summer
  • We are looking for pharmacists in hospitals,
community pharmacies, industry and at the
university. The letter details the program and
    their role.
  • Pharmacists can pick the student from their
resumes and set the amount of hours which they
    will work.
  • Pharmacists are not required to find
accommodations for the student, nor pay them. We
encourage them to provide assistance through
donation to CAPSI, but this is not necessary.

12
Selection Committee
  • What are we looking for?
  • Great Canadian representatives
  • Pharmacy student who are involved with pharmacy
    and health on multiple levels
  • Leaders

university you are attending, and does try to
ensure that students from all Canadian pharmacy
schools do get to participate in SEP.
