COMMON FEATURES OF A BLOG
  • a type of website that is EASY and QUICK to
    Create (dont have to learn HTML or web
    authoring softwarei.e. FrontPage, Dreamweaver
    etc.)
  • able to instantly publish to the web
  • ability to personalize layouts (templates/skins)

  • organized by time (chronologically backwards)
  • it is organized with dated entries (each entry
    is time-stamped)
  • allows for archiving of previous posts (great
    for tracking progress or record keeping)
  • organized by posts (a.k.a entries, postings)
  • posts are usually short and frequently posted
  • The use of hypertext links is a common feature
  • Blogs open student writers to multiple means of
    communication (multimedia friendly)
