    principals, and in appropriate cases
    paraprofessionals
  • Mentorship programs
  • Recruitment initiatives
  • Teacher advancement initiatives
  • Class size reduction

  • Each LEA will be required to meet annual
    measurable objectives that include
  • an increase in the percentage of highly qualified
    teachers to ensure that all teachers that are
    teaching in core academic subjects are highly
    qualified no later that the end of the 2005-06
    school year
  • An annual increase in the percentage of teachers
    who are receiving high-quality professional
    development to become highly qualified teachers

Title II D Enhancing Education Through
Technology
  • The primary goal of this program is to increase
    student achievement through the effective
    integration of technology into curricula and
    instruction.
  • One mandated activity
  • Recipients must use at least 25 of funds to
    provide ongoing, sustained, and intensive,
    high-quality professional development in the
    integration of technology into curricula and
    instruction

  • LEAs that did not receive sufficient funding
    under the formula subgrants
  • Sufficient scope and quality

  • Must have an approved Technology Plan
  • Consolidated application for formula funds will
    include questions to meet requirements of NCLB
    for those who have approved plans on file
  • LEAs must verify CIPA (Childrens Internet
    Protection Act) certification
