Toronto is one of North America's finest cities.
This presentation will briefly describe the city
as well as provide some information on various
attractions for the visitor.

Toronto Basic Facts
  • Capital city of the province of Ontario.
  • Was ranked as one of the worlds top 10 best
    cities.
  • Toronto is an administrative, cultural,
    industrial and financial centre.
  • Location of Lester B. Pearson International
    Airport
  • Usually warm and sunny in the summer (180Cto270C)
    and winter can be very cold at times(-10C
    to 80C).

Casa Loma
  • In Spanish, Casa Loma means"a house on
    the hill.
  • Built in the early 1900s by Sir Henry
    Pellatt and his wife Lady Mary.
  • It took 300 men to build it over a period
    of two and a half years.

  • In 1924 Pellatt went bankrupt and had to
    sell the castle.

Niagara Falls
  • Niagara originates from the Neutral
    Indian name Ongniaahra meaning
    Thunder of Waters.
  • Was formed about 12,000 years ago when glaciers
    retreated north, allowing water from Lake
    Erie to flow over the Niagara Escarpment, a
    ridge that extends in an arc across the
    northern Great Lakes region from Winsconsin
    to New York.
  • Samuel Champlain, a French explorer probably
    visited in 1613.

CN Tower
  • Opened in 1976 as the world's tallest
    freestanding structure.
  • At 553 metres (1,815 feet), it reaches
    more than a third of a mile into the clouds.
  • The seven story sky pod features indoor
    and outdoor observation decks, a nightclub
    and a 400 seat revolving restaurant.
  • The Space Deck, at 447 metres (1,465 feet),
    is the world's highest public observation
    gallery."
