Striving

• Prayer may be a struggle, a work. The word
  (Greek sunagovisastha) Paul used in urging the
  Romans to pray is the word from which English
  agonize is derived. He expected Gods will to
  be accomplished through prayer, but he knew he
  faced physical agony and wanted fellow Christians
  to bear part of the spiritual agony through
  prayer. True intercessory prayer involves
  suffering spiritual pain for others.
