What is Progress Monitoring?Progress Monitoring
is a method of determining progress toward a
specific literacy goal.
  • Occurs in the time between Benchmarks
  • Monitors only one skill in a given period of
    time. It is called the Critical Skill.
  • Intended for students with Intensive Support or
    Strategic Support on last Benchmark
  • Intensive two to four times per month
  • Strategic once a month

How Do I Know Who and What to Monitor ?
  • Go the mClass website and look at your students
    reports OR look at your PDA

Make sure that All is selected
Tap to select DIBELS

Days column displays number of days since the
Critical Skill was administered.
Dots next to student names correspond to their
Support Recommendation from the last Benchmark.
Target indicates the critical skill for the
student, based on Grade and Time of Year

Starting the Progress Monitoring Probe
After selecting a probe, select the form that you
want use. Tap the form and tap OK
A tally mark will appear next to a form for each
time the student has seen that form.

Progress Monitoring Probe Results Screen
When the probe is completed, this results screen
will appear.
The Graph button leads to the students Progress
Monitoring Graph for the probe just administered.

Students Support Recommendation
Critical Skill and Goal for that skill
Most recent score on Critical Skill
Progress since last Benchmark (in gray)
Tap the Report button

Tap Graph or History to see all probes done
Tapping History takes you to the detailed score
history. Tap Graph to return to the Graph

1. Switch between class lists if needed.
2. Select the Benchmark period.
3. Tap a student name before selecting probe.

Beginning the Benchmark Assessments

White boxes are probes that are not part of the
selected Benchmark period.
