  • The importance of employability in a European and
    global context

LTSN Subject Centres - Professional
  • We work with people in a professional and
    creative way
  • We operate with honesty and to the best of our
abilities. Our choices and decisions are based on
both evidence (gained from rigorous research),
values and experience. We deliver what we say we
will deliver and do what we say we will do.
  • We encourage reflection and learning from
experience as well as being reflexive in
determining the impact that we have as
individuals and networks upon the contexts within
    which we work.
  • We operate with respect, everyone is entitled to
their own opinions and ideas and these should be
    given due consideration
  • We work transparently, network members are
involved in discussions and decisions that affect
them and their work Channels of communication are
    available and used.

5
LTSN Subject Centres - Work with people
  • We work with people to help them discover and
take their next steps. We believe that growth and
development of individuals and organisations is
important. We are supportive help people
(within and outside of the Academy) to work more
effectively, take on new challenges and affect
positive change. We are responsive and work with
the our communities to help meet their needs
  • We recognise, celebrate, and work with diversity
and are inclusive in our approach to enhancing
    learning teaching
  • We engender feelings of success, satisfaction,
and security to promote a sense of well-being in
    individuals and organisations a learning
organisation is a health promoting organisation
  • The Network presents a coherent whole that is
more than the sum of its parts with a matrix of
    links that facilitate networking
  • Users of both education services (students) and
    professional services (patients/clients), where
appropriate, are involved in determining network
    direction and activities where possible

6
LTSN Subject Centres - Creative
  • We are open minded, think laterally, and look for
imaginative and action oriented ways of working
    where appropriate
  • We believe that change should be encouraged where
it is likely to benefit the individual or
    organisation
  • We are dynamic, proactive and forward looking
  • We are flexible, reprioritise and respond in a
way that meets the needs of our communities
  • What works in one context doesnt necessarily
work in others, one size doesnt fit all. There
are generally good practices rather than one best
    practice.
  • We believe that knowledge doesnt stay still.
Substrate and growing conditions need to adapt
according to changing conditions and environment
  • We actively look for ways to provide resources
and support in order to benefit the Higher
    Education community
  • The resources at our disposal are used
effectively and we look for ways to maximise gain
(for academics and students) and minimise cost.
