Title: Progressive Powerpoint Presentation

1
Progressive Powerpoint Presentation
  • Mike Reed and Adam Lanka

2
Progress made
  • - Classes for the slam bar, jam bar, dunk arrows
sprites for the bars and arrows as well an array
for sequencing of clicks to operate user
    functions.
  • - Documentation is complete for most of the
current classes, only needs to be made for the
    sprites
  • Theme development is coming with addition of the
actual sprites for the animation canvas,
backgrounds will be from same source for
    development of theme.
  • GUI/model presentation is basically complete,
with all classes written and functioning.

3
Difficulties/Lessons
  • We encountered some problems with making the
power bar and slam bar balls stay within the
sprite when bouncing. We also needed the bars to
have only x and y velocities in the respective
    bars.
  • Our problems have mainly been anticipated, just
classes or sprites wed need to construct.
  • We solved these problems by modifying the
trackers and collisions of the balls when they
    are within the sprites walls.
  • At this point in time in the project timeline, we
have no current or anticipated problems.

4
Progress Evaluation
  • We are currently on track according to our
timeline, even a little ahead of schedule.
  • Currently we are still designing sprites and
    classes, and implementing the game.
  • The scope of our project has lessened a little
bit, as we found simpler ways to structure
    certain parts of our project.
  • Currently we do expect to be complete by our
    noted due date.

5
Updated Timeline
  • As of 11/16/2005
  • Design of video game classes, methods, and state
    - now Nov 19
  • Implementation of basic game - Nov 20th
  • Testing/debugging - now Dec 12
  • Documentation - December 7th
  • Enhancements - December 15th
  • Release - December 13th 2005

  • User instructions - 40 points
  • Game Functionality - 200 points
  • Most basic game functions entirely correctly -
    100 points
  • Some simple enhancements made - 50 points
  • Several simple enhancements or 1-2 complex
    enhancements made - 50 points

7
Most basic game functions entirely correct
  • Our power bar, slam bar, and dunk arrows are all
developed and functional, and can be clicked in
    sequence.
  • This criteria should be evaluated by
  • Is the basic interface complete?
  • Is the interface easy to use and functional?
  • Do the basic functions of the game work
    correctly?
  • Does the interface form fit with the desired
    applications?

8
Some simple enhancements made
  • Currently the simple enhancement made are the
ball for the power and slam bars is a bullseye,
and will soon be a basketball. More enhancements
are to come in the future, as we havent reached
that part of our timeline yet.
  • Criteria for evaluation
  • Are there at least 3 basic enhancements?
  • Does the effect if the simple enhancements make
    the game more stimulating?
  • Where possible, does the GUI have visual
    enhancements?

9
Several simple enhancements or 1-2 complex
enhancements made
  • Balls sprite has been changed, and a complex
enhancement is the sequencing of power bar, dunk
arrows, and slam bar to allow control over every
    aspect of the slam dunk.
  • Criteria for evaluation
  • Are there at least 5 basic enhancements?
  • Do the basic enhancements overall make the game
    more stimulating?
  • Are the complex enhancements effective and
    functional?
  • Do the complex enhancements make the game more
    enjoyable?
