Aim of the Convention . is that Parties shall
endeavour to limit and, as far as possible,
gradually reduce and prevent air pollution
including long-range transboundary air pollution.
Parties develop policies and strategies to combat
the discharge of air pollutants through exchanges
of information, consultation, research and
monitoring.

Aim of the Task Force The Task Force on Emission
Inventories (TFEI) was established to support the
work of the Cooperative Programme for Monitoring
and Evaluation of the Long-range Transmission of
Air Pollutants in Europe (EMEP), and in
particular to assist Parties experts in
providing high quality, comprehensive, timely and
consistent emission data in accordance with their
reporting obligations under the Convention and
its Protocols.

Expert Panels within the Task Force take care
that the guidance documents provided for the
construction of inventories are regularly updated
and adjusted. The major document is
the Atmospheric Emission Inventory Guidebook.

The Agriculture and Nature Panel completes and
updates the EMEP/CORINAIR Atmospheric Emissions
Inventory Guidebook, Sections 10 (Agriculture)
and 11 (Other Sources and Sinks). It also helps
to generate national inventories by supplying
technical support (calculation sheets).
