    Winnipeg attractions

  • Canad Inn Stadium
  • Assiniboine Park and Zoo
  • Easy access to local restaurants and bars

Clientele Continued
  • The clientele ranges at the Victoria inn
  • In the hotel the rooms and the restaurant ranges
    from young children to senior citizens
  • The restaurant mostly caters to people staying
    in the hotel or people who are in for a business
    meeting. There is not a lot of people from
    outside the hotel that dine there
  • The lounge caters to those who are of 18 years
    of age and older. However, if parents wish to
    dine in the lounge the underage children are
    allowed to dine with them

More Clientele
  • The kitchen clientele varies, and it covers
  • Business meetings
  • Graduation dinners
  • Weddings
  • and large functions.
  • ( The ball room can hold just over 1000 people
    for one function. Currently they are renovating
    the ball room so that it can hold more people)

My Duties
  • While working at the Victoria inn this summer my
    duties varied
  • Cold line (included salads and deserts, as well
    as salad and desert prep for banquets)
  • Banquet prep
  • Hot Line
  • On hot line my shifts varied, I covered
    everything from breakfast to dinner and
    appetizers
  • Banquet prep also included shifts where we dished
    up the dinner
  • Also I got to partake in the inventory which was
    done once a month

While at the Victoria Inn
  • While working at the Victoria Inn this summer, I
    was given a lot of independence where I was
    working a station more than once by myself
    (breakfast rush, lunch rush, and cold line)
  • The Executive Chef and his Sous Chefs and other
    members of the staff would help you where needed
  • Sometimes breakfast rush was anywhere from 50 to
    150 people in an hour to two hour span

The Chefs
  • The chefs are as follows
  • Corporate Chef Jeff (takes care of all the
    Victoria Inns in Winnipeg and in Ontario)
  • Executive Chef John Pierce (main chef in the
    kitchen, made sure everything ran smoothly)
  • Sous Chef Mel Gibson (English background)
  • And new to the hotel Sous Chef Dionne Thomas
    (Jamaican background)
  • These chefs were all great and always willing
    to show you anything and answer any of your
    questions

Extras
  • On Sundays, Chicago Joes (the restaurant) offers
    a brunch from 9 am to 2 pm. The brunch offers
    everything from cheese to deserts, and hot items.
    There is also a daily buffet offered from 1130am
    to 200 pm

The Staff
  • The staff at the hotel were all willing to help
    any new comers learn their way around the
    kitchen, and how they did functions
  • The kitchen staff was made up of a variety of
    cultural backgrounds the majority of experience
    ranged from 1 year to 20 years.
