The Hammer

• Used to penetrate nails into wood or other
  materials.
• Can be used to move objects that are tight, into
  place.
• Can be used to remove nails with the claw.
• Claw, rubber mallet, metal mallet, bullpen.

Chisel

• Are used to make wood joints.
• Come in all different sizes. From 1/8-1.
• Can also be used to shape wood.

Hand Plane

• Are used to smooth rough wood.
• Can square up material.
• Remove any marks left from chipped blades on
  machines.
• Hand, jack, smooth, cabinet, block plane

Hand Saw

• Are used to cut wood into several pieces.
• Can make wood joints by hand (dovetails)
• Cross-cut, rip, backsaw, coping , hacksaw and a
  dovetail saw
• Type of saw is designated by number of teeth.

Measuring Tape

• Used to measure objects in length, thickness,
  depth and width.
• Come in metric or imperial units of measurement.
  
• Combinations of both are also available.

Hand Drill

• Are used to drill holes into wood, metal or
  plastic materials.
• Hand drills are human powered and controlled.
• Can be difficult to use.

File

• Are used to shape wood and other materials.
• Another use is to debur metal objects.
• To smooth edges in metal, woods and plastic
  materials
• Single cut and double cut files. Flat and half
  round, circular and triangular, square.
