ISSUES
  • Joint chapters answer to multiple IEEE entities.
    They cannot be expected to report separately to
    the MTT-S. (red tape)
  • Joint chapters are often chaired by non-MTT-S
    member. A few dont attend IMS.
  • New OC Chapter has multiple chairs to cover its
    joint" societies. (Hector for MTT-S)
  • Regions 5 and 6 actually were well represented at
    the 2003 Chapter Chair meeting.

Chapter Activities
  • L31 Reports filed on-line are available for
    review to all IEEE officers.
  • Outstanding Chapters could be identified by the
    L31 review of Web based record.
  • Joint chapters often have more meetings, but, not
    all are MTT-S topics.
  • Workshops and Mini-Symposiums are conducted by
    some chapters or their respective sections.
    (Foothill, San Diego Santa Clara Valley)

New Chapters
  • Buenaventura Section held monthly meetings with
    many outstanding presentations. They were able
    to elect a new fresh slate of officers for their
    second year. (Chaos covered the facility and
    refreshments thanks Jim Chao)
  • Orange County very active in IMS/2005 and will
    host IMS in 2011.
