Scope
  • Covers the technologies that support the
    effective cooperation of distributed teams in
    carrying out the technical tasks (e.g. design and
    verification) within a project. It covers the
    following areas
  • Remote access to data, applications and
    facilities
  • Shared applications, tele-(video)-conferencing
  • Distributed interactive simulation
  • Advance Distance Learning.

Objectives
  • Since most of the basic technology exists,
    the RD strategy here is to facilitate access to
    this technology by means of
  • Enhancing existing applications to cope with a
    distributed operation
  • Developing middle-ware software
  • Gathering experience in the use of this
    technology
  • Developing guidelines for configuration of
    computer and communication equipment
