overlooked aspects of women's lives. From working
mothers to stay-at-home wives, every woman
deserves 'me-time' when they focus on their
health and indulge in activities that bring calm
and happiness amidst busy routines. The best part
about physical fitness activities is that, in
addition to improving cardiovascular, muscular,
and skeletal health, they release endorphin (a
feel-good hormone) that lifts mood, lowers
stress, reduces anxiety, relieves pain, and
increases self-esteem.

Paying attention to physical fitness, especially
for women, is significant in modern times because
their role and contribution to society have
expanded. While they still anchor their families,
what has changed is their pursuit of career
ambitions and personal fulfillment. But their
attitude toward fitness stays casual! Moreover,
while juggling through and managing their diverse
roles in life, women do not get the 'me-time'
they deserve for their well-being. Due to such
lifestyle, they are exposed to lifestyle-related
disorders, including obesity, metabolic syndrome,
chronic backache, diabetes, etc. Therefore, every
woman must indulge in physical activities to
ensure a healthy body and mind. No matter their
age, shape, or size, it is fundamental that women

More often than not, every discussion about
women's fitness revolves around women's busy

living. a. Physiological Health As they say, a

for mental and emotional health and improve
physiological health. For instance, if women walk
for 20 minutes per day, they can burn enough
calories and lose weight, saving themselves from
deadly diseases.

Moreover, through physical fitness activities,
women can improve their sleep patterns and
memory, strengthen their bones and muscles to
prevent age-related disorders, improve blood
circulation, control weight, increase energy
levels, reduce risk of stress, keep their blood
cholesterol levels in check, and protect
themselves against the threat of life-threatening
diseases, including heart attack, stroke, and
more. Staying physically active delays the onset
of age-related symptoms, including increased
susceptibility to infection, hypertension, hip or
vertebral fractures, arthritis, coronary heart
disease, and even Alzheimer's disease. Moreover,
since women are more prone to musculoskeletal
disorders, they must dedicate a certain amount of
time to physical activities.

While working out by oneself is fine, women can
also enroll themselves in physical fitness
training programs that are designed to cater to
the diverse fitness needs of women. b. Mental
Health As per studies, extended periods of
physical activity improve mood, focus, and
memory, boost cognitive function, reduce stress,
and lead to a better frame of mind. While
maintaining fitness to improve mental health is
significant for women of every age group, it is
significantly more critical for menstruating
women. It is because menstruating women
experience fluctuating hormone levels, which
cause irritability, mood swings, and anxiety.
These emotional symptoms interfere with how women
function normally and interact with people around
them.

women indulge in physical fitness activities for
better release of endorphins to ease mood
disturbances and feel better. Menstruation is one
of the multiple reasons why women should be
taking charge of their physical health and
creating a dedicated routine for exercise. Every
woman, regardless of age, should dedicate some
time to physical activities for various mental
benefits, such as lesser stress, improved mood,
control over turbulent emotions, recovery from
mental health issues, enhanced concentration and
focus, and better overall emotional and mental
health.
