Azure Admin refers to an individual responsible
for overseeing and managing Microsoft Azure cloud
services within an organization. This role
involves tasks such as provisioning and
configuring resources, creating and managing
virtual machines, implementing security measures,
monitoring the health and performance of Azure
services, and ensuring compliance with
organizational policies. Managing Azure resources
through the Azure Portal is a common and
user-friendly way to interact with various Azure
services. Here's a basic guide on how to manage
Azure resources using the Azure Portal

3
Sign in to the Azure Portal Open your web
browser and navigate to the Azure
Portal(https//portal.azure.com/). Sign in with
your Azure account credentials. Navigate to the
Azure Dashboard After signing in, you'll land on
the Azure Dashboard. This dashboard provides an
overview of your Azure resources. Browse Azure
Resources Use the left navigation pane to
explore and access different Azure services. The
categories include "All services," "Recently
used," and specific service categories.

Create a New Resource To create a new resource,
click on the "Create a resource" button on the
dashboard. Choose the service or resource you
want to create, and follow the wizard to
configure its settings. Manage Resources Click
on "Resource groups" in the left navigation to
view and manage your resource groups. Resource
groups help organize and manage related Azure
resources.

View and Manage Resources Click on a specific
resource group to view all resources within
it. Click on a resource to access its details,
configuration settings, and management
options. Deploy Templates Azure Resource Manager
(ARM) templates allow you to define and deploy
Azure resources as code. You can deploy templates
directly from the portal.

6
Monitor Resources Use the "Monitor" section in
the left navigation to access monitoring and
diagnostics tools. You can view metrics, set up
alerts, and monitor the health of your
resources. Access Azure Cloud Shell Azure Portal
provides a built-in Cloud Shell, which is a
browser-based shell for managing Azure resources
using Azure PowerShell or Azure CLI.

Configure and Secure Resources Utilize the
"Settings" or "Configuration" sections within
each resource to configure its settings. Ensure
that security measures such as Network Security
Groups (NSGs) and Azure Active Directory (AAD)
are appropriately configured. Manage Virtual
Machines If you're working with virtual
machines, you can start, stop, restart, and
resize them directly from the portal.

Review Activity Log The "Activity log" section
provides a chronological view of operations that
were performed on your resources, helping you
track changes and troubleshoot issues. Remember
that the Azure Portal is just one of several ways
to manage Azure resources. You can also use Azure
CLI, PowerShell, SDKs, and other tools based on
your preference and requirements.
