Rallies for Vintage Classic Cars

ABOUT US
a new name but were old hands. We have
experience of planning and delivering events on
all six continents. Between us, we have clocked
up thousands of miles of rallying around the
world and some of us have been lucky enough to
have a career as motorsport professionals. Our
passion has driven us to found Rally the Globe as
a commercial but not-for-profit members club
that returns us to the original spirit of our
sport. Our club supports a broad family of
motorsport enthusiasts who want to explore the
world in historic and classic vehicles. We
organise endurance category rallies which are
competitive, with significant off-road sections
and challenge us through all the continents of
the world. We organise Marathon and Challenge
category rallies which are competitive,

WEST COUNTRY CLOVERLEAF
Our Cloverleaf events are small rallies with
limited entries, based at a single luxury base
for three nights, with sole use of all the
accommodation and facilities. The rally will
explore Dartmoors open moorland with rocky tors
and free-roaming ponies, and the chocolate-box
villages in the surrounding valleys, as well as
venturing into less-well known and quieter Bodmin
Moor and discovering coastline from the surf
beaches of north Devon to the craggy headlands of
Poldarks Cornwall. As with previous Cloverleaf
events, the emphasis will be on quirky fun and a
touch of the unexpected, although rest assured
that cream teas will definitely be on the menu!

VINTAGE SHAMROCK 2023
The fourth running of this popular event starts
with Documentation and Scrutineering in beautiful
County Waterford, before heading out after lunch
across the Suir estuary towards New Ross. We
tackle the Inistioge hillclimb on our way to the
Arrigle Valley, before a visit to Kiltorcan for a
test and a regularity at Templeorum. Day one
finishes back at our hotel for an evening of
socialising and comparing notes. Our second day
sees crews face regularities at Kill, Helvick
Head, Drum Hills and Tallow. We have a test
through picturesque apple orchards, and head to
our home for the next three nights at our hotel
in East Cork, and an evening in the local pub.

CARRERA RIVIERA
The fourth in Rally the Globes popular Carrera
series of events will take eleven days to explore
the array of scenic delights and perfect driving
roads that France has to offer, utilising the
unparalleled knowledge and support of our French
Route Coordinator legendary co-driver Denis
Giraudet. Starting in the chic 19th century
seaside resort of Deauville on the Normandy
coast, we set out in to the pays DAuge and a
scenic route through beautiful, historic towns on
our way to Chambord. The route takes us through
the Chateaux de Loire region, famous for its
castles, to an overnight stop in La Rochelle on
the Atlantic coast. We continue along the way
with a night in Cognac, before heading east to a
rather splendid, privately owned racing circuit
for a test and some refreshment.

ALASKA TO MEXICO MARATHON
This incredible Marathon event will see crews
journeying 12,000km south from the vast
wilderness of unique wildlife and striking
landscapes of Alaska to the tropical beaches of
the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. The
extraordinarily diverse route will traverse
asphalt and gravel roads lined with snow-capped
mountains, wide open landscapes, alpine scenery,
rugged deserts, ancient canyons, towering rock
formations, beautiful beaches, giant sand dunes
and tranquil fishing villages. We begin in Gold
Rush country surrounded by snowy peaks with old
mining outposts dotting the unspoilt expanse of
Alaska and the Yukon, where distances are great,
and civilisation is minimal. Snaking south
through Canada,

EVENT CATEGORIES
Each of the events at Rally the Globe gives
participants a unique experience as they explore
a particular region of the world. Within these
welcome limitations, these diverse events are
loosely grouped into one of four Event Categories
to give an indication of the relative levels of
complexity, length, endurance and driving
challenge that participants can expect. In an
ascending order of perceived toughness the
Event Categories are Our Carreras are all
asphalt events, with hotels along the route
chosen for luxury, quirkiness, or because of
nearby historic rally cars highlights. The events
will usually be between one and two weeks long.

GENERATIONS RALLY 2024
Once again, the Generations Rally will be based
in a single hotel, which for 2024 is Carden Park
Hotel Spa, known as Cheshires Country
Estate, with 1000 acres in the heart of the
Cheshire countryside. Proceedings will start on
Friday morning with the normal pre-event
formalities of scrutineering and signing-on.
After a light lunch, the rally starts with a full
afternoons route that will introduce newcomers
to the ideas of Regularity Sections and Tests.
The evening will see us all dining together for a
Welcome Dinner, giving the chance to socialise
with like-minded people and share tips,
experiences and maybe the odd mishap with both
fellow newbies, and those who already have plenty
of rally miles under their belts.

VINTAGE SHAMROCK 2024

Dublin on Monday 6 May 2024, an easy drive from
the international air and ferry ports. After a

the estates, private houses and roads of Counties
Meath, Kildare and Cavan. On the second day we
will strike further west (and a little north) to
the rugged Wild Atlantic Way, basing ourselves in
the beautiful estate town of Westport, County
Mayo for the next three nights. This bustling
hub, designed by the renowned architect James
Wyatt and overlooked by the impressive Croagh
Patrick mountain,

ATHENS CHALLENGE
The two-week odyssey will take in seven countries
and 4,000km, transporting crews from the
magnificent surroundings of the snow-capped
Austrian Alps, all the way to the sparkling
Aegean Sea in Greece on the outskirts of the
ancient city of Athens. There will be a wide
variety of dramatic scenery, historical landmarks
and famous motorsport terrain along the way.
Highlights will include Slovenian
picture-postcard landscapes exceptional
seascapes on the Dalmatian Coast the historical
towns, bridges and bazaars of Bosnia
Herzegovina sinuous mountain roads in Montenegro
and regular reminders of the communist past in
Albania. Shunning the crowded beach resorts in
Greece, the route will instead offer delightful
driving in the Pindos mountains and Acropolis
Rally heartlands, before descending to the
waterside finish on the edge of Athens.

VEHICLE AGE CATEGORIES
Rally the Globe promotes a wide range of events,
some of which are targeted at different ages of
vehicle. Across all these events we apply a
single, consistent set of Age Category
definitions. These Age Categories will form the
basis of any class competition. Different Age
Categories may on occasion have different routes
and time schedules if necessary. Cars will be
categorised by the date when their individual
technical specification was first built. This
approach means that all cars of the same
specification will run in the same Age Category
irrespective of the date of build or registration
of the individual car. A Pre-war A1 Pioneer

CARRERA BAVARIA
The fifth event in Rally the Globes
well-received Carrera series will take us on a
10-day adventure through Southern Germany and
Austria. We start at the stunning Schloss
Kronberg Hotel in the Taunus region, just a few
kilometres from Frankfurt, where Scrutineering
Documentation will take place. From there, we
will head south through some wonderful
countryside with quiet roads and interesting
architecture, crossing the Rhine, before spending
the night in historic Heidelberg. We reach the
Black Forest, where we will spend a few days and
stop for lunch in a hilltop castle.
