Navaratri Puja Vidhi for Worshiping Maa Durga
and Its Importance
Numerous religious rituals are carried out during
Navratri celebrations in honour of Navdurga.
During this time, devotees pay homage to Parvati,
Lakshmi, and Saraswatithree incarnations of the
Hindu goddessfor nine days. Navratri means
nine nights in Sanskrit.
These nine evenings are celebrated with great
zeal and excitement by Indians worldwide. During
these 9 nights of celebrations, people fast
ritualistically, practise mindfulness and
meditation and perform pooja in their customized
marble temple at home. Nav Durga, known as the
Nine Forms of Durga, appreciates unique worship
and supplication. Navratri is when Goddess Durga
comes down from heaven to bless her devoted
followers hence, stories about Nav Durga are
told and retold in every Hindu home at this
sacred time. Rituals for The Puja Mother Durga
represents all that is good and powerful and wise
and compassionate. She bestows strength and
success on her followers. Kalash Sthapana, or the
installation of the sacred puja pot, is an
important ritual for any home doing Navratri
puja. Place a red cloth down. Emblazon it with
Durga Maa Statues. Water the red soil youve
spread in front of the photo. Cover some barley
seeds in the middle with a clay container. Put
some roli in the saucepan and fill it with Ganga
Jal.

Cover the opening of the kalash with a bundle of
mango leaves. Cover a coconut with rice and a
piece of red fabric, then place the lid on the
container. Navratri Puja Performed Daily Turn on
the lamp and the incense. Flowers with vermilion,
Chandan, and turmeric paste are great offerings
to Durga Maa Statues. Water the barley seedlings
you planted every day during the puja. Bring
some tasty treats that youve cooked, especially
for the puja. Maa Durga deserves an arati.
Prasad should be shared with guests and close
relatives. Perform this puja each day of
Navratri. Eight-Day Ritual Maintain the
above-described daily pooja throughout the full
nine days of Navratri. Eight days into the
Navaratri puja, nine young girls are around for a
celebration. Many people believe these to be the
nine incarnations of Durga. Serve them a fancy
supper and present them with thoughtful tokens of
appreciation. Day Ten of Visarjan On the tenth
day after the Navratri puja has been performed,
Visarjan, or the sending off of Ma Durga, takes
place. Perform the puja as you would on any other
day of the year, not just during
Navratri. After the puja, go around the house
and sprinkle the kalash water. Put the rice you
saved on the Kalash lid in a bird feeder. In ten
days, the barley seeds would have developed
well. Drop them off under a tree in the
backyard. Significance of Navaratri The
celebration of Shardiya Navratri, or Navaratri,
has deep roots in Indian mythology. During this
period, it is a legend that Durga, the goddess of
female strength, assumed nine guises. Each of
these nine reincarnations of the goddess is
celebrated on a separate festival day. The
festival also celebrates the triumph of good over
evil by commemorating Goddess Durgas defeat of
the monster Mahishasura. It is often held that a
households financial situation will improve
after performing a Navratri puja. Ma Durga shows
The familys health, money, wisdom, and success.
