Title: What Are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Copper Sheets?

1
What Are the Advantages and Disadvantages of
Copper Sheets?
By Ganpati Engineering  Industries
2
Introduction
The copper sheet is a highly malleable and
workable metal with outstanding electrical and
thermal conductivity and corrosion
resistance. Copper is one of the most important
metals for protecting both the exterior and
interior of a building, office, or other
structure.
3
High Thermal and Electrical Conductivity
Copper is cheaper and has a better
electrical/thermal conductivity than silver,
making it indispensable in the electrical
industry. Electrical wiring, heating elements and
welding electrodes all fall under this category.
4
Corrosion
One of the most serious disadvantages of copper
wire is its susceptibility to corrosion, also
known as oxidation. As a result, its life
expectancy is lower than that of fiber optic
cable.
5
Anti-Bacterial and Biostatic
Copper is also biostatic, meaning it hinders
organisms from attaching themselves to it and
developing on it. Copper marine hardware keeps
barnacles and mussels from attaching themselves
to ship hulls.
6
Cost of Copper is Fairly High
Copper cable is significantly more expensive than
fiber optic cable. Because it is primarily
reliant on Latin American foreign trade, copper
is a volatile market when compared to locally
manufactured fiber optic equipment.
7
Resistance to Corrosion
Copper's low reactivity makes it excellent for
pipes and electrical cables because it doesn't
corrode quickly. Furthermore, when copper is
exposed to the air, it develops a green patina of
copper oxide on its surface.
8
Shock Hazard
  • Copper wire is more prone to electrical shock
than fiber optic cable. Copper is very
    susceptible to electrical interference, resulting
in a less clear signal than fiber optics.
