Always Blot! Do Not Rub
When spillage occurs on your carpet, it is
important to act quickly. In most situations, you
should not scrub the stained area. Instead, blot
the stain with an absorbent cloth from the
outside towards the inside. If the spillage is
large or you are unable to remove all of it with
blotting, you may need to gently agitate the
fibers using a soft-bristled brush or a similar
item. This can loosen debris that has become
embedded in the carpet and may make it easier for
you to get out all of the stains.

Do Not Let the Mess Sit for Too Long
When cleaning urine stains out of the carpet, you
will want to use a wet vac or steam extractor to
remove as much moisture as possible from the
carpet. Make sure you are only using towels and
cloths that are absorbent, otherwise you could
actually be spreading the urine around instead of
cleaning it up. Also, do not rub the stain with
something like a scrubber pad because this can
cause the stain to spread deeper into your
carpet. Whatever you do, dont beat yourself up
if you get stains on your carpet. It happens and
with time, effort, and patience, they can be
removed completely!

Do Not Overuse Cleaning Products
When you want to clean a pet stain, you should
use the right amount of cleaning product. Pouring
excessive amounts of cleaning solution will only
make your problem worse since it leads to
residual stains setting on the carpet. Take
caution when using cleaners as overloading them
can cause damage to the fabric and increase
health risks for your pets.
7
Avoid Using Any Form of Heat
For stain removal, you should use cold or
lukewarm water to clean the stains. You can use
either carpet cleaner or soap-and-water solution
to clean that annoying pet smell from your
carpets. The key is not to scrub too hard as this
can further embed stains into the carpet and
cause damage. Instead, blot it out with paper
towels.
