Quantitative testing of hospital-grade
disinfectant wipes' bactericidal and yeasticidal
activity is done using the EN 16615 test, also
known as the 4 field test.
The EN 16615 method is applicable to wipes used
to disinfect non-porous surfaces in dental
clinics, kindergarten or school clinics,
residential areas, and health care facilities.
In addition to multidrug-resistant strains,
inanimate surfaces are a major source of
pathogenic microorganisms in hospital settings.
As a result, disinfection procedures play a
crucial role in preventing cross-contamination
and surface colonization of pathogens in
healthcare settings.
