Facility Management Firm Australia
  • Facilities management refers to the co-ordination
and organisation of a space, such as a commercial
property, an office block or a school. Many
people may wonder why property owners hire
companies to handle the management of their
facilities, but the truth is that without
    reliable and consistent facilities management,
the property itself will never reach a higher
long-term value or its full potential.

3
What does a facilities manager do?
  • Facilities management will vary from property to
property. However, some of the more common
responsibilities of a facilities manager include
    the following

4
Health and safety issues
  • The facilities manager needs to ensure that the
property is safe enough for employees and
clients. This means ensuring that the building
itself adheres to health and safety regulations
and standards as set out by the government. One
of the most important issues that need to be
addressed is that of fire safety. The manager
needs to check that all fire equipment and
systems are properly maintained and inspected on
    a regular basis.

5
Security
  • With crime forever on the increase and with
businesses all over the country installing
countless security systems, it is quite obvious
why these systems need to be maintained. The
facilities manager will be in charge of
inspecting these systems and ensuring that they
    are working at optimum levels.

6
Cleaning
  • In order to keep properties looking good and
functioning as they should, regular cleaning is
essential. The facilities manager will be in
    charge of coordinating this.

7
Maintenance
  • Every building requires maintenance and, without
a facilities manager, it can be very easy to put
this much-needed maintenance on the back-burner.
This is never a good idea as a building that is
slowly deteriorating can begin to pose a serious
risk to the health and safety of the people who
spend a lot of time inside of it. Luckily, the
person in charge of facility management will be
responsible for making certain that the building
is always in the best condition possible.
