What is a kidney function test? A series of
examinations known as kidney function tests
provide us with an up-to-date picture of how well
our kidneys are doing. It consists of urine,
blood, and imaging tests that evaluate the
functioning of our kidneys and how well they are
carrying out their duties.
Types of kidney function tests. Based on your
health needs, your doctor may recommend any or
all of the following tests to ascertain your

Nitrogen This is a test to check the amount of
urea nitrogen and waste products in the blood.

   blood in the urine to determine kidney health.
3. Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate This test
   calculates the kidneys filtration rates based
   on a persons protein levels, age, gender, size,
   and race.
4. Imaging test Imaging tests like an MRI or CT
   provide a picture of the kidney and help doctors
   identify changes in size or look.
5. Kidney Biopsy A kidney biopsy involves the
   removal of small kidney tissue for an
   examination. It helps diagnose and treat kidney
   problems.
