  • There are numerous corrosion removal techniques
    available.

    the best corrosion removal technique, abrasive
    method, and treatment tools for your needs.
  • Before beginning any corrosion removal technique,

    equipment, including eye, skin, and respiratory
    protection.

  • The first step classify the level of damage. This
    is accomplished by thoroughly cleaning and
    inspecting the area.

The following are the categorization criteria
  • Light corrosion 0.001-inch-thick peripheral
    damage that appears as pitting or discolouration
    can be removed with light sanding, polishing, or
    chemical treatment.
  • Moderate corrosion similar to light corrosion,
    but with a thickness/depth of up to 0.010 inch
    and signs of blistering, scaling or flaking that
    can be repaired with manual or power sanding.
  • Severe corrosion pitting deeper than 0.010
    inches, as well as blistering, scaling, flaking,
    or exfoliation that necessitates extensive
    power-sanding and grinding.

Corrosion below the "light" level may be
considered allowable damage that does not require
immediate repair.

    the surface using a cloth.
