Ministry of MSME through its notification no.
S.O.2119 (E) dated 26th June 2020 published in
the Official Gazette of India has officially
stated that Udyog Aadhar or MSME Registrations
will no longer be valid after 31st March 2022 and
has been replaced by the new and improved system
of Udyam Registration. MSME's that are already
registered for Udyog Aadhar, but do not have
Udyam Aadhar registration can still avail of the
benefits until 31st March 2022 without any
issues. These companies are advised to register
for Udyam Aadhar as soon as possible after 31st
March 2022. Registration for Udyam Aadhar is
mostly very similar to the previous system, with
businesses requiring an ID proof, a certificate
of business or form 16, and a GST number among
other basic information. This should help smooth
transition for businesses that have already
registered for Udyog Aadhar. The best part about
this development is that all the existing forms
will now be converted into the new format, which
means that the data from Udyog Aadhar will be
carried forward to Udyam Aadhar. All in all, it's
