The foundation of the wall is made out of bricks.
The bricks determine the wall's strength and
durability, and ultimately the entire structure.
Red bricks are the most frequent and oldest
variety of brick. Red bricks are popular because
to their easy availability, durability, low cost,
convenience, and feasibility. However, as the
population grew, so did the demand for red
bricks. Fertile land must be sacrificed to meet
the rising demand for red bricks, which India, as
a developing country, cannot afford. In addition,
the red bricks are becoming more expensive
because to a scarcity of competent labour and the
rising cost of kiln fuel. As a result, different
brick solutions were investigated in order to
balance the demand and supply of bricks.

AAC Blocks are lightweight masonry blocks or
larger planks and panels that can be cut into
masonry blocks and the size of AAC Blocks is
rather uniform, and there is no coarse aggregate
phase. Whereas, red brick is a tiny block formed
of clay ceramic substance that is used in the
construction of masonry structures. When
compared to AAC blocks, bricks are less
homogeneous in size and texture. Fly ash, cement,
lime, gypsum, and an aeration agent are mixed
together to make AAC blocks. Clay (alumina),
sand, lime, iron oxide, and magnesium are used to
make traditional red bricks. Bricks are made from
naturally occurring soil. As a result, it will
ultimately vary depending on the quality of local
soil.

AAC blocks are simple to work with and can be cut
with common equipment. The force of an earthquake
is proportional to the weight of the structure.
The building's dead load will be reduced due to
the light weight of AAC blocks. As a result, AAC
blocks are chosen in seismically active
areas.  Red bricks are simple to work with and
handle. Raw materials are readily available and
plentiful. As a result, it is cost-effective. Red
bricks are low-maintenance, long-lasting, sturdy,
and long-lasting construction materials. The
compressive strength of brick is enough for most
construction needs.

AAC Block has a greater production cost per unit.
Plaster does not always adhere effectively due of
its smooth surface. During the manufacturing
process, AAC block construction requires special
attention so that the surface does not become too
smooth. Whereas construction takes a long time in
case of red bricks and in high seismic zones, red
bricks cannot be utilized for load-bearing
structures.
