How Can You Keep Your Brain Young While Ageing
With Time?

  • Do you fear Alzheimer's disease, a degenerative
brain disorder that causes memory loss and other
cognitive difficulties? Studies show that a
sharp, healthy mind does not have to decline with
age. Some people take care of their brains by
being active, while others take natural
supplements to help. There are brain performance
supplements you can take every day to keep your
    brain sharp and active.

If you are concerned about how to keep your brain
fit as you age, I have good news for you. Mental
decline is not inevitable. Here are 5 ways you
can keep your brain young and ensure your mental
functions stay strong throughout your
life. There's a lot of debate about whether you
can keep your brain healthy through diet and
exercise alone, but one thing is for sure there
are many ways to keep your brain young.
4
Exercise Daily
  • Physical activity is good for your whole body,
including your brain. It increases blood flow and
stimulates the release of "neurotrophic factors"
that support healthy brain cells. Aerobic
exercise is especially helpful, but any type of
    exercise is helpful.

5
Challenge yourself
  • Any mentally stimulating activity should help
exercise your brain. Read, take classes, and try
"mental gymnastics" such as word puzzles or math
problems. Experiment with things that require
both manual dexterity and mental efforts, such as
drawing, painting, and other craft activities.

6
  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Like every other part of your body, your brain
needs a steady supply of nutrients. The American
Heart Association recommends eating plenty of
fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish,
legumes, nuts and seeds, and low-fat dairy
products. Evidence suggests that you can improve
your memory with foods that contain antioxidants,
omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins B6 and B12, folate
(or folic acid) and vitamin E.

7
  • Keep your mind active
  • What you do with your brain has a big impact on
your performance. Try to make reading a habit, as
studies have shown that reading helps stimulate
your mind and form new connections in neurons
that naturally improve the stimulation of your
mind. Do games like word puzzles or riddles, it
will keep your brain sharp and young.

8
Be socially active
  • Make sure you are socially active. Spending time
with family and friends reduces anxiety and
depression, which can lead to cognitive decline
through mechanisms that are still unclear. A
recent study found that those who stay connected
with loved ones through social networks tend to
feel happier than those who have isolated
themselves from social networks due to depression
    or other reasons.
