Carbide burrs are made of tungsten carbide or
high-strength material (HSS). Tungsten carbide
burrs are recommended for dealing with metal.

Single Cut Carbide Burr
To conveniently strip fabric with a smooth
finish, stainless steel, polished steel, brass,
wrought iron, and ferrous metals are also
commonly used. This tool can handle heavy stock
removal, milling, deburring, and cleaning.

Double-cut carbide burrs are common on ferrous
and non-ferrous metals, aluminum, low-carbon
steel, and other non-metal materials like
plastics and wood. They would be able to scrape
content more quickly and they have more cutting
points. These are the most general cuts that can
be used for a wide range of conditions.
