  height capacity, youll need both flow and
  pressure. Pumps with a medium to the
  high-pressure diaphragm and a maximum pressure of
  500-700 psi are ideal. Centrifugal pumps with a
  high flow rate but low pressure is usually
  ineffective.

• 3.ID of the Spray Hose
• With all of the pressure being forced through the
  pump and into the line, having a hose carrying
  the load is critical. A high-pressure
  agricultural hose is required!
• Rule of Thumb Match the hoses ID (Internal
  Diameter) to the pumps flow rate for the best
  distance. For example, if you have a 20 GPM pump,
  dont use a 3/8" ID hose since it would undermine
  the purpose of the greater flow rate. A 20 GPM
  pump should have an internal diameter of 1/2" or
  3/4". Youll get an extra 5-10 feet with the 3/4"
  ID.

• The gun is the last element. Youll be able to
  reach the tops of tall trees if you use a spray
  gun built for long-range, high pressure.
