healthcare professional to have the right
qualifications, the necessary certifications and
legal documents that stand out as a testament to
the individuals qualification. There are many
healthcare jobs out there, some of which include
Doctors, Nurses, Physicians, Therapists,
Practitioners, Lab Technicians, Phlebotomists and
so much more. In this article, we are going to
discuss the various types of certifications that
you need to become a phlebotomist. We have
compiled for you a couple of certifications and
certificate courses that you can do to become a
Phlebotomist. Before we dive into understanding
the certifications necessary for becoming a
phlebotomist, lets quickly take time to
understand the meaning of phlebotomy and the
components it entails.Phlebotomy is the process
of drawing blood from patients or blood donors
and donors. A phlebotomist is a medical
professional who performs these procedures is
called a phlebotomist. Phlebotomists are
essential members in hospitals, clinics, testing
laboratories and blood donation centers. They
enable physicians to correctly diagnose diseases
by providing them with blood specimens from
patients. Phlebotomists are also known as
laboratory technicians, lab technicians, medical
laboratory technicians, blood sample collector
and so much more.

In most countries to become a phlebotomist, you
might need a secondary school certificate and
should attempt a phlebotomy program course, which
can take somewhere in the range of four months to
a year. A few states require a prepared
phlebotomist to be guaranteed prior to
rehearsing. At times a confirmation or reference
in the field assists you with laying down a good
foundation for yourself as a solid up-and-comer
and can assist with expanding your shots at
procuring some work or a higher remuneration.

certificates needed to become a phlebotomist, we

1. PBT-ASCP This is a Phlebotomy Technician
Certification program offered by the American
Society for Clinical Pathology. You must have at
least a high school diploma to enter this
program. 2. CPT-NHA This is a certification
program to become a Phlebotomy Technician. You
can earn a certified phlebotomy technician CPT
from the National Healthcareer Association. The
CPT-NHA certification is offered under three
different levels. To be eligible for this program
you must have obtained such a high school
diploma. 3. RPT-AMT This is a Registered
Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) certification course
that is offered by the American Medical
Technologists (AMT). You must have passed the
phlebotomy course certification in the last four
years. You must have worked as a health program
instructor with three years of teaching
experience.

4.CPT-NPA The National Phlebotomy Association
(NPA) offers this certification for Certified
phlebotomist technologists. The eligibility
requirements include the completion of an allied
health training that included venipuncture
training.The NPA-CPT certification exam comes in
a written multiple-choice format and takes two
hours. 5. PTC-ASPT The American Society of
Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) offers a phlebotomy
technician certification. To be eligible for the
PTC-ASPT certification, candidates must have at
least completed six months of training to become
certified as a phlebotomist. In addition to that
the candidate must successfully complete a
phlebotomy training program. In addition to the
above requirement, you are also required to
present evidence that you've performed at least
75 venipunctures and five skin punctures.
