Title: 4 Red Flags That Indicate Your Top Performers Want To Leave Your Company – WalkWater Talent Advisors

1
How would it feel when you find out that your top
performers want to quit their jobs, and join
another organization, or move ahead to begin
their own start-up? Its certainly going be
painful, and you want to keep them around for
longer as long as its possible.
Thats because you know that your top performers
work harder than anyone else to bring
outstanding results for your company. But if your
top performers are determined to leave, it can
become difficult for you to convince them to
stay. The stronger the determination, the harder
it gets to influence them. But, what if you can
identify their wavering thoughts in the initial
stages itself and pull them away from their
plans, persuading them to continue working with
you? So, before you get that unexpected
resignation from your top performers, move ahead
to identify if there is any such possibility
that lies in the future, so that you can obstruct
their plans at the earliest. And, how do you do
that? Well help you identify the four red flags
that you should be looking out for, when trying
to find out if your best employees are planning
to quit.
2
Red flag No. 1 The employee has reduced levels
of engagement and productivity If you feel that
your employee is not engaging as much, and isnt
being productive any more, he may be on his way
out. You might be able to identify this when you
see your employee not sharing any observations or
suggestions, or when hes simply doing his duty,
without getting involved with any other
tasks. What can you do? You need to find ways to
promote engagement. You need to work closely
with your employees and converse with them
regularly to hear about their day-to-day
activities. Taking the time to sit with every
individual and asking them how they feel about
their job, or what can be improved, it might
light a spark again, and have them to stay. Red
flag No. 2 The employee is feeling stressed Are
you seeing your employee feeling stressed out?
Hes more likely to quit! Burnout is a
phenomenon caused by chronic workplace stress,
which include symptoms like exhaustion, mental
distancing from the job, and a negative attitude
towards every task. What can you do? You need to
improve every employees wellbeing, by finding
ways to reduce their workload. You can organize
meetings to determine whether an employee is
feeling too loaded with work, and whether he
needs a helping hand to complete it. If most of
your employees are feeling overworked, you must
immediately take steps to hire more people which
can be done effectively with the help of
WalkWater Talent Advisors, the one who tops the
list of leadership hiring companies in
India. Red flag No. 3 The employee doesnt find
his work meaningful If you feel that your
employee isnt finding their work meaningful
anymore, its a clear sign that hes unhappy or
uninterested in working with you any longer.
This could become possible when he doesnt know
how his role is proving to be important or
purposeful. This could also be possible when he
has to simply perform his tasks monotonously all
day, without having any kind of communication
with others in the team. All in all, the work
that he does isnt bringing him any
satisfaction, as it doesnt make him feel like
hes accomplished anything.
3
What can you do? You can show your team the
bigger picture, and explain to each one how they
can contribute to it, and to achieve the
companys goals. You can conduct one-on-one
discussions with your employees to talk about
their roles and importance in the company. If
youre successful at explaining to them how
their work affects the company as a whole, it
will help them feel valued. Red flag No. 4 The
employee is avoiding work If your top performer,
who has performed perfectly in the past, is
avoiding work now, its a clear indication that
he is fed up with his work. He may be avoiding
some of his tasks, or may be skipping work
entirely. Moreover, theyll no longer volunteer
for assignments to help others. All of this could
be possible because theyre either too worked
up, or arent interested any more. What can you
do? You can speak to your employees to find out
whats going wrong. You could also communicate
with them are appreciate their work, or ask them
if they need any help. Watch out for these four
red flags, and act fast to address their
problems, and find out a solution immediately,
if you dont want to lose out on your best
employees.
