Famous Sweets Of Odisha That You Must Try

1.Chhena Jhili
  • This popular sweet dish of Odisha originated from
Nimapada, Puri. This is another version of Gulab
Jamun, but a simpler one. The essential
ingredients needed for its preparation are
chhena, sugar, wheat flour, cardamom powder, and
    pure ghee.

2. Arisa Pitha
  • Arisa pitha is a crispy sweet delight which is
basically made of rice flour, kneaded in sugar or
jaggery syrup and topped with sesame seed. Since
this Pitha is deep-fried, it is mostly dry and
hardened, so you can preserve Arisa Pitha for
    about 2-3 weeks.

3. Chhena Poda
  • Chhena Poda is made of cottage cheese, sugar,
cashew, cardamoms and raisins. All the items are
mixed well and then wrapped in the leaves of the
Sal tree and baked in a charcoal oven for two to
three hours. After a few hours the outer crust is
caramelized and turns into brown color.

4. Malpua
  • Malpua here is made using mashed bananas, flour,
cardamom, milk, sugar and fennel. The small
fritters are deep-fried and then drenched in the
    sugar syrup.

5. Rasabali
  • Rasabali can be simply thought of as deep-fried
patties of Chhena soaked in Rabri. Chhena is
farmer cheese and Rabri is the sweet, thickened
milk. The main ingredients include paneer,
semolina, and cardamom powder, powdered sugar,
milk, saffron strands, sugar, and oil.
