  • Summer has arrived, bringing with it a bounty of
juicy, sumptuous, and healthy natural treats for
all. And when we say 'all,' we mean even your
adorable dogs! Summers are wonderful for a
variety of reasons. Longer days, interspersed
with sunny spells and a cool breeze, are
certainly welcome, but what truly delights us is
the season's produce of fresh vegetables and
fruits. So, here's to spending your summers with
your pets in the healthiest way possible. certain
summer vegetables and fruits have been deemed
safe for dogs. Serve a platter of those greens or
a bowl of fruits to the furry palates, and watch
    the dogs enjoy nature's bounty!
  • 1. Water Melon a few pieces of this succulent
fruit, minus the seeds and outer cover, make an
excellent summer treat for your dog. This fruit
is not only hydrating in nature, but it is also
high in fibre, potassium, and vitamins a, b6, and
    c. Watermelons are composed of 90 water, making
them an excellent way to beat the heat!
  • 2. Cucumbers The best thing about cucumbers is
that they are extremely low in sugar and
carbohydrates, making them an ideal snack for
obese dogs trying to lose weight. Allow your dog
to enjoy the abundance of vitamins b1, b7, c, and

vitamins, minerals, and fibre that your dog will

fresh, frozen, raw, or cooked, minus the spices

    greens.
  • 5. Spinach A small amount of spinach every now
and then and you'll have a healthy, happy furry
companion by your side! Spinach is beneficial to
bone health as well as gastrointestinal
disorders. This leafy vegetable contains fibre as
    well as vitamins a, c, b, and k.

  • A word of caution to pet parents don't overdo it
when it comes to serving fruits and vegetables to
their dogs. To begin with, fruits are high in
sugar, and too much sugar is a no-no for canines.
Second, an excess of vegetables or fruits can
    cause gastrointestinal distress. Always consult
your veterinarian before changing your pet's
diet, especially if it has a history of food
allergies. If you also want to know about best
pet food brands, like victor dog food, diamond
pet food, or other food supplies, you can visit
    statewide service center online.
