  • Opinions expressed are Author's own.
  • Some people are destined to be entrepreneurs.
Some, even serial entrepreneurs. It seems, from
the time they are born, growing up, get through
school, etc, theyre hungry to start a business
and lead it to success. They will stop at
nothing to make that dream a reality.
  • Related 3 Steps to Eliminating the Barriers to
    Becoming Self-Suficient
  • For others, starting a business is a scary,
intimidating notion. There are too many unknowns
to take the plunge. But if youre considering
becoming an entrepreneur, dont forget all the
benefits that go along with it
  • Flexibility to work your own hours. Yes, you may
be able to gain a great deal of flexibility in
your time schedule. However, you must understand
    that a business, a
  • true business - as opposed to a hobby - will take
time, perhaps a great deal of time, initially -
to get off the ground. So, be prepared to put in
the time, in order to gain flexibility.
  • More spare time (eventually). Spend more time
with your family and friends. Again, this only
applies once your business is established and you
    have employees,
  • virtual assistants, and/or automated systems
    handling the majority of necessary
responsibilities. Dont expect to have more
spare time until you reach this point. In all
probability, you will have much less time.
  • Call the shots. Nobody else is going to set the
rules. You are. That said, you must know what you
want and be prepared to take risks to get it.
  • Set your own deadlines. No more last-minute
rushing unless you want to do it. This can be
problematic, if you are not organized and/or
focused on success. So, know your "why" for
starting your business and keep it front-of-mind
    at all times.

50 Reasons to Start Your Own Business

  1. Sell how you want to sell. Online? In person?
Inbound? Outbound? Its your call. You literally
have the decision in the palm of your hand
concerning how you wish to do what you wish. You
are ultimately responsible. Just remember that
    "little" point.
  2. Create your own environment. You can set the
formality and culture of your organization. From
a one-person organization to one of tens or
hundreds, you determine how you wish your company
    to project itself and perform.
  3. Pursue your passion. You can do what makes you
happy. There is no need to start a business only
to suffer from the same lack of passion many
currently feel working at their present job. Your
own business provides you the opportunity to
"spread your wings" and fulfill some dreams.
  4. Create something from scratch. Watch your
organization grow from start to finish. There is
no better feeling than building something
yourself. You can bring something to life!
  5. Meet new people. Network with other entrepreneurs
and professionals. While an essential component
of many businesses emphasizes contacts with
clients and customers, if you are not
necessarily a "people person," you can opt for a
more online business situation which emphasizes
somewhat less personal contact. However, no
matter which route you choose - greater or lesser
contact - know this business, in general,
    requires contact with others.
  6. Build a team. You decide who to hire and bring
into your company. These decisions are all yours.
You must take ownership of who you choose to
    have around you.
  7. Create jobs. Improve the economy with new job
opportunities. Yes, you can move from being the
"employee" to become the "employer," even if your
business just have one employee - you. Remember,
you would be freeing up your previous job for
    someone else. Go for it.
  8. Help people. Provide jobs, and products and
services to improve peoples' lives. This is an
all- around win-win. As you realize your dreams
of business ownership, you will also be providing
opportunities for others, in addition to proving
    much-needed good and/or services. Again, win-win.

50 Reasons to Start Your Own Business
  1. Become an expert. Learn the ropes of your
    industry through first-hand experience. Business
is about solving problems for an adequate
compensation. To do this, you must know the
problems to be solved within your selected
industry. You may not know these things
initially. So, you must first become a student
in your chosen business area. Develop your
    industry knowledge and skills.
  2. Invest in yourself. You take the risk, and youll
gain the rewards. Purchase courses, join
mastermind groups, etc. Focus on learning. In
other words - 'Empty your wallet into your brain'
    Paraphrase - Benjamin Franklin.
  3. Make more money. If you want a pay raise, you can
give yourself one. The rule is simple the more
problems you solve for others at a profit, the
more money you make. So, when you want to make
more money solve more, bigger problems in your
    business.
  4. Financial independence. No one else is signing
your paychecks. You can only truly become
financially independent when you own your own
time and means of wealth building. Rarely, if
ever, will you become rich working for others.
  5. Tax benefits. Write off your biggest expenses.
The US tax system is designed to reward business
owners. Owning a business is the best way to
legitimately lower one's taxes. Note while you
do get to write off lots of expenses as an
entrepreneur, beware the self employment tax.
  6. New challenges every day. Find new ways to
stimulate your mind. Again, business is about
solving other people's and businesses' problems
for profit. When you are good at doing this, you
will be presented with varying challenges each
day. So, get your juices flowing!
  7. Get exposed to new cultures. Discover new
    perspectives and approaches. He/She/They who
have the widest exposure to the greatest number,
kinds, and amounts of experiences, will have the
edge in every area of life, especially in
    business where innovative approaches to
    problem-solving is well-rewarded.
  8. Discover new fields. Delve deeper into your
industry. In other words, the more you know and
the more you learn, the more valuable you (and
your business!) will become. As this happens, the
    better you will be paid.

50 Reasons to Start Your Own Business
  • Create an asset. Give yourself something sellable
to hedge your bets. Rationale while
    marketing/selling other peoples' goods and
services (i.e., afiliate marketing) is a great
way to start, maintain, and grow a business,
there is little doubt that owning one's own
product or service is the most lucrative asset
one can possess. Even if you love afiliate
marketing and will base your business upon it,
seek to create some asset you totally own,
    especially a digital product.
  • Connect with your clients. Forge real, personal
connections. This begins with knowing the
difference between a customer and a client.
    Essentially, a customer is a one-off
relationship, even if you serve him/her on a
number of occasions. A client, on the other hand,
is a higher form of customer with whom your
    business has formed an enduring,
    mutually-beneficial relationship. Always seek to
turn mere customers into clients. Connect with
    them.
  • Delegate boring tasks. Dont do anything you
dont want to. You've heard it before, and may
have even said it yourself "Time is money." If
you are starting a business, you cannot afford to
waste your time performing any activity which
you can pay someone else to do faster, cheaper,
or better than you. Every second you waste costs
    you money. Delegate!
  • You can stop working. Work you enjoy doing cant
be described as work. There is nothing like
"working" for yourself. Its not really working.
Its more like "building" for your yourself, your
future, and your family's generational wealth.
  • The power to give. Have the power and flexibility
to donate time or money to worthy causes. "Give
and Ye Shall Receive!" We have all heard this
adage many times. Well, it is more than a saying,
it is a natural law, akin to another natural
law, "What goes around, comes around." Together,
they form a greater natural law the Law of
Reciprocity. So, do better to give better.
  • Related The 8-Step Battle Plan to Succeed as an
    Entrepreneur
  • Get involved in the community. Participate
actively in your neighborhood and region. Success
in your business may well lead to a higher
profile in your given community. Take advantage
of this to become a catalyst for change and
improvement. This, in turn, may further raise
your profile, and gain you even more business.

50 Reasons to Start Your Own Business
  1. Improve your industry. Push your industry forward
with new innovations and ideas. Becoming an
industry leader doesn't have to be so daunting.
When you concentrate on business excellence,
your reputation will grow. Use this to
respectfully move your industry forward as much
as you can, without unnecessarily stepping on
    toes.
  2. Get a mentor. Meet valuable, insightful mentors
and learn from them. It is impossible to know
everything, especially at the outset of an
enterprise. It may do you well to seek the
guidance of selected, trusted individuals in
your business space. Do this with care. Also,
know what you can return in favor. Gaining a
mentor will take time. So, at the very beginning,
you may wish to study up as much as you possibly
    can on your own.
  3. Become a mentor. Take your own knowledge and
experience, and mentor someone else. Remember
the adage "Give and Ye Shall Receive." Just as
you would benefit from a mentor as you rise in
your business space, someone else could gain
knowledge from you as they seek to expand their
business knowledge and experience. You could be
that missing link for them. Know this you get
as good as you give. So, if you want help, help
    someone else.
  4. Learn new skills. Branch out in new departments.
Remember the saying "If you are not growing,
you are dying." How true! Nothing stays the same.
Nothing stays still. Nothing. This is also true
with learning new skills. Never stop growing.
Never stop learning and, therefore, making
yourself as valuable to those around you, as
    possible.
  5. Attend new classes and seminars. Constantly
refine your skillset and stay updated.
Grow...grow...grow. Never stop growing. Having a
business will push you to update your skills and,
thereby, improve your value in your business
space. No matter the business area you choose,
nothing stays the same. So, you must stay up or
    risk falling behind.
  6. Have a big ofice. If you want the biggest ofice
in your workplace, its yours. You deserve to get
out of that cramped cubicle area where you now
work, get off that factory floor, get off that
over- the-road truck seat, etc. Stretch out for
once. Get your business going. Go on. Get moving.
  7. Work from anywhere. Work from home, from an ofice
or a beach, if you so choose. This is one of the
best aspects of starting your own business. In
fact, many modern business owners actually work
from their home ofices, vacation areas, off-grid
living spaces, rural areas, etc. Go for it!

50 Reasons to Start Your Own Business
  1. Have the option for multiple ventures. Start
another business when youre done with this one.
    In today's business environment, especially
given the relative ease of starting a business
online, starting multiple businesses is a
relative piece of cake. With the small annual
cost of buying a domain name, getting cheap
hosting, and signing up for an afiliate program,
starting multiple businesses has never been so
easy. And if going this route makes you anxious,
you can as easily start a business on YouTube,
on Instagram, using the Pinterest platform,
Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, What's App, article
writing, e-book publishing, and Google Adsense.
  2. Gain entrepreneurial experience. Being an
entrepreneur makes you a better professional in
almost any position. As a business owner, you are
forced to make decisions you may have passed up
the chain of command in your J-O-B. Now, you must
learn to make those decisions and live with
their results. There is nothing like pressure and
    stress to hone one's experiences.
  3. Get recognized. Start earning name recognition
and build a reputation. Let's face it, we all
like to be noted for doing something right - to
one degree or another - some of us more than
    others. From an entrepreneurial standpoint,
recognition can - and often do - lead to other
    money-making opportunities. So, starting a
business and gaining recognition can certainly be
    a good thing.
  4. Get things done faster. Set your own eficiency
rates. Life simply moves faster when you are an
entrepreneur/business owner. You no longer have
time to waste because, as you know, "Time is
money." Eficiency is at a premium, and that means
more money in your business account.
  5. Build a personal brand. Take the time to develop
your personal brand, and tie it into your
business. This is especially true if you can turn
your hobby into a true business. Going forward,
your brand is your wealth - and some may think -
    your worth.
  6. Get more creative. Create your own opportunities
and your own solutions. Owning a business forces
you to stand on your own two feet. You are
responsible for the outcome - good, bad, or
indifferent. many times, it forces you to create
something out of nothing, think outside the box,
and come up with novel solutions to pressing
    problems.
  7. Inspire others. Serve as an example for other
people to follow their dreams. Some people will
seek you out as a mentor. However, most others
will not, preferring to observe you from afar and
follow your example. Remember you are always
    being watched.

50 Reasons to Start Your Own Business

50 Reasons to Start Your Own Business
  1. Reduce your commute. Find an ofice space closer
to your home. Sometimes - perhaps, more than
ever - that commute is from the bedroom to the
in-home ofice, or from upstairs to downstairs.
Not only will your commute be reduced (perhaps,
to nothing!), but your outlays for clothing,
fuel, laundry, etc., may be drastically reduced.
    Go ahead, start the business.
  2. Have more job stability. Never worry about being
laid off or fired. Here is a truism he or she
who has the most options, win. There is nothing
    like having a Plan B, a Plan C, a Plan D, etc.
Having other options for gaining money/wealth,
in addition to your job, can be absolutely
reassuring. When things go badly economically,
you need not worry because you have secured your
    financial future through your business.
  3. Find pride and fulfillment. Finally start taking
pride in the work youre doing. There is nothing
    - NOTHING! - which comes close to the pride of
ownership. know that you possess, control, and
can do as you wish with what is yours and yours
alone. This is reason enough to start a business.
  4. Reach your dreams. If youve ever dreamed of
being wildly successful, this is your chance.
Starting a business, especially one online,
levels the playing field. A business opportunity,
practically any business opportunity, serves to
squash any notion that success is not possible.
Literally anyone can take advantage of what a
business can offer. You, too, can find success
    here.
  5. Learn to embrace failure. Even if you fail,
youll walk away with new skills and more
experience you've never had. Just be prepared to
stumble, fall, and fail a few times as you learn
to run your business professionally. Its called
"experience." Yes, good old fashion experience.
Just as you cannot make an omelet without
breaking a few eggs, likewise, you should not
expect to succeed without failing at a few
components of your business. The trick is don't
fail twice in the same area.
  6. Have a great story to tell. It will be a fun
story for your grandchildren one day, win or
lose. It is in the stories of perseverance where
the true essence of success is found. Far too
often, we concentrate on the final success and
do not pay enough attention to the struggle which
birth the success. In hearing your story, your
progeny will come to understand that starting,
establishing, and growing a successful business
does not involve magic rather, hard, smart work
    and sacrifice.
